Preaching And Teaching In Any Context

"Dr. Johnnie R. Bradley has two unique characteristics. He has the ability to passionately and accurately proclaim the message of Christ, and at the same time being an instrument to encourage pastors, preachers, and church leaders." Pastor Quincy Stratford Carmel Friendship Baptist Church "Dr. Johnnie Bradley delivers an excellent resource on preaching in the African American church. Anyone who is serious about understanding the history of different styles of preaching within the African American church should have this book in their library. Prepare yourself to be blessed and inspired." Dr. Tony Mathews Senior Pastor North Garland Baptist Fellowship I have discovered that when you are curious about why a particular discipline has evolved to where it is, you need to research that discipline. In this book, Dr. Johnnie R. Bradley has done an excellent job historically researching the genesis of the nuts and bolts that make up the genre of African American preaching down through the years. I recommend all pastors to add this book to their library. Congratulations Dr. Johnnie R. Bradley for such an excellent work. Dr. Billy J. Bell Senior Pastor New Creation Bible Church Church Consultant Dallas Baptist Association "It is my hope that this book will find its way into the hands of pastors, preachers, and teachers who want to know more about expository preaching. The reader will be introduced to a premier advocate and practitioner of expository preaching-- Dr. E. K. Bailey. Dr. Johnnie Bradley has accented a niche in homiletics that will serve present and future preachers well if taken seriously. While many seminarians are introduced to narrative preaching, they may now get readings or concentrated assignments in the practice of expository preaching. I believe that this book is a worthy companion in the hands of seminarians as they are introduced to various styles of preaching." Dr. Thomas Spann Director of The Intern Program Perkins School of Theology- Southern Methodist University
