Positivity and self-esteem are essential for young children if they are to grow up to be productive citizens and have a positive outlook on their own lives’, and life in general. Both children and adults may know the pain of having a dream or a goal but having no one to support or believe in their dream. Sometimes the lack of support is simply a result of negligence because the people we are seeking encouragement from have never received it themselves. Thus, they cannot give it to us. Big Dreams No Fears is about a young girl who has set her mind on a dream and wants to share that dream with those closest to her, but she finds no support from them. She must make a conscious decision, after experiencing their disbelief and her own fears, on how she will react. She chooses to think positively, pray and stay confident in her dream.
The author, Dennette Bailey, experienced periods of time of lackluster during her childhood. She decided to write the book she would have loved to read as a young child to encourage herself. She hopes it encourages many children today that may be going through a similar circumstance.
