Attorney Les Hiller regains his suspended law license while recovering from a personal tragedy. While working for a new class action litigator, his new job sends him to Colombia. There, he must find an elusive US expat who he believes witnessed atrocities committed by local paramilitaries, hired by a giant corporation orchestrated to clear out their villages.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta 1996, a young, disillusioned college dropout meets a beautiful Colombian woman. With nothing to lose, he follows her to her family’s isolated small town, where he begins teaching English. He becomes enchanted with the culture, and the people. Yet, this young teacher will soon learn a dark secret brought on by a company he knows only too well.
