What is Aqua Tone?



"Aqua Tone is aquatic resistance training using a variety of equipment to progressively overload major muscle groups and promote strength training. Proper body form and alignment is taught and reinforced at all times. Although there is an initial warm up with movement, exercises are mostly stationary and focused on resistance training rather than cardiovascular training."

 

About the Author

Patty Bowman

Patty Bowman has been certified with the Aquatic Exercise Association as an instructor since 1992 and as an Aquatic Personal Trainer since 2003. She is also certified with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America as a land Personal Trainer since 2002. She has been a certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard with the Red Cross since 1976. In 1983 she graduated from college with a B.S. in Recreation with a therapeutic emphasis. She has been employed with the Alaska Club/Fairbanks for 11 years as a swim teacher, lifeguard, water fitness instructor and Personal Trainer. Her main objective has always been to work with people in the water either by teaching skills, educating for fitness or providing therapeutic guidance.
