Book Details

“Don’t let it get me”, he shrieked. with a voice that sent chills up and down Kenny’s spine.

Not all of us can be super-heroes, in fact, nobody can! But all of us can have excitement in our lives. Kenny's adventures are taken from the author's experiences growing up in the mountains of Colorado.

In Kenny's world, wild animals roam freely in the Deep, Dark Woods or on the mountain. Criminals do evil but should be afraid because Kenny is out to stop them. Travel takes on a whole new meaning. He is a very curious boy with a never ending supply of energy and imagination. His usual reply when seeing an opportunity to do something exciting is, "Why not?" Kenny is a doer, not just an observer, eagerly stepping forward whenever there is a challenge.

Anyone entering Kenny's world will see the everyday world through a new set of eyes that can make real life stimulating and fun to live. Kenny's attitude about life is, I only get one shot at this, lets not blow it. Everyone can relate to Kenny because he is ageless; always the age of the reader, from 5 to ???. Look for further adventures in upcoming books.

Book Excerpt

Early one morning Kenny got up and cooked his breakfast. This morning it was pancakes and fried eggs—one of his favorites. His faithful dog, Tippy, certainly loved the pancakes.

Kenny had always wondered where the railroad tracks went that ran past his house. Every morning the train went by at exactly 10 o’clock. He tried to be outside each day to wave at the engineer, who always waved back.

But, Kenny never knew where the train went and how it could go by in the same direction every day. Today he would find out.

As soon as he had finished his breakfast and put the dishes in the sink for his mother to wash, he ran outside, with Tippy right behind. It was a bright, warm spring day and the birds were singing in the trees. He could smell the new life after the long, dreary winter. He was full of energy and ready to explore the world. At Kenny’s age, everything was exciting, especially since he was planning to solve the mystery of the railroad.

Kenny was not one to look for answers from other people. He had to discover things for himself.

He made his way to the tracks through the long grass behind his house. He looked both ways as far as he could see; where the twin rails disappeared.

“Well,” he thought, “the train goes this direction, so that’s where we’ll go.”

“ C’mon, Tippy,” he called, as he turned left onto the tracks.
