To her the mingling of ethnicity’s was normal and already done, but not to the southern Society. White privilege was to remain pure at all costs. Charles was bombarded with the messages from friends, family and society to keep his Irish Plantation roots pure. But Elsa was standing in the way. Both Charles and Elsa mentally strive against the social norm, with Elsa as a plantation mistress. Charles needed to protect his pure Irish heritage. Love struggles for truth.
