Scientific Project Management

Being strong alone does not help, one must also be smart. Therefore this book is about working hard versus working wise. It is about using the right tools, but it is also about using the tools right. After reading this book the chances are high that you will become a smarter worker, a better organized person. You will be able to achieve more results with less effort, and—most importantly—you will become a leader who can manage multiple tasks which involve both yourself and the contribution of many others.

Book Excerpt

A woman walks through the forest. She meets a man who is desperately trying to cut a tree with his ax. The man is sweating, breathing hard, and his efforts seem to be futile. “Why are you working so hard?” asks the woman. “I am very busy. My ax is quite blunt. This makes it so lengthy and difficult to cut the tree,” replies the man. The woman raises her eyebrows and advises: “You should sharpen your ax, it may help.” The man answers: “I do not have time for this, because I need to cut the tree.”
