Dr. Sylvia Held has had many years of experience as a psychologist, university instructor, and as a student of history. After she received her father's diary and photo album from when he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Nicaraguan Campaign in 1928-1929, Dr. Held realized the importance of what these soldiers learned about jungle warfare and how they would use those skills in the South Pacific during World War II.
