About the Author

FM Eugene Martinovsky and Lawrence Cohen

Dr. [FM] Eugene Martinovsky was not a professional chess player, but as can be seen from his notes had a great knowledge of chess. Before he passed away in 2000 he achieved 2 International Master norms. His writings in the Illinois Chess Bulletin were enjoyed by many readers and gave insight into play in European tournaments. I am only an “Expert” chess player, but I was fortunate enough to have played against the good doctor and after his passing was given many file folders with his hand written games and notes. Some of these wonderful games I have compiled into this book. All levels of players should enjoy the insights and wonderful moves made in the games.
