Being the Voice in the Silence
It’s no secret that life sucks at times. Sometimes more than it should. The challenges that we face in life isn’t what defines who we are as people. What defines us and sets the way for our futures is how we deal with those challenges. From battling addiction, depression, a lot of loss from suicide, my own suicide attempt and challenges with my children, I learned that some days are certainly easier than others. There were several times throughout the course of these challenges that I questioned why me? Why was I going through all these difficulties? There were times that I wondered if life would ever get better, and if I would make it through these challenging times. I eventually discovered that these challenges weren’t defining who I was as a person, but they were shaping me to help others in the future who were struggling with their own challenges. I have become a survivor; an advocate and I have the unique perspective to offer to those going through their own challenges. These are a collection of my writings from some of my darkest times, and reflections on those dark times. Those are the times that have helped light up my path for a strong future. Those dark times are the ones that taught me to never give up.
