Paul Naffah, MD has always looked beyond the horizon. Born in Zouk, Lebanon he came to America in 1959, trained in Chicago as a cardiovascular thoracic surgeon, and built a thriving group practice. He achieved the American Dream by working hard, overcoming hurdles and appreciating everyone who helped him along the way. Dr. Naffah literally held many hearts in his hands, hence the title In These Hands which is an intimate story of his life, his personal and professional challenges, his love for his family, his work and his country.

Paul Naffah, M.D.

Board Certified in General Surgery and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Dr. Paul Naffah was a groundbreaking heart surgeon who performed one of the first successful bypass surgeries in Chicago in 1969. He rose to become Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery and a Member of the Board of Trustees at Illinois Masonic Medical Centre and his group started and developed three open heart programs in the Chicago area.
