Velma Small grew up in a small town outside of Houston, Texas. She has been an educator for thirty years educating children in grades three to twelve. She was nominated into Cambridge's Who' Who in 2008. She was named Middle School Teacher of the year for the 2009-2010 school-year. She was also nominated into Strathmore's Who's Who in 2016. Dr. Small enjoys taking care of her family, going to church, shopping, reading, and dancing. She is the mother of two and has one grandchild.
