Book Details

“Lieutenant Colonel Dave Pinion has spent a lifetime serving his faith, family, and country. I had the honor of serving with him in war and in peacetime and know him as a man of outstanding character, courage, and humility. This thoughtful book reflects his accumulated wisdom and provides the reader an excellent navigational tool for serious self-improvement and to achieving a life well lived. I strongly recommend it!” —Colonel Dan Sullivan, Commanding Officer, 2nd Marine Regiment

“Throughout America’s longest war, dozens of books have shed light on the mental and physical struggles of the American serviceman. This book captures the struggles of war as seen through the eyes of a parent whose duty it was to be a commander fighting for his nation, his men, his family, and his spiritual sanity. Lieutenant Colonel David Pinion has written a must-read guide for those seeking internal influence and purposeful understanding. His experience both on and off the battlefield lends to his credibility as a supporter, mentor, and father. This is a unique narrative of his dedication to service, family, and faith as left to his children and to his readers.” —Gunnery Sergeant Dathan Byrd, EdD United States Marine Corps

“Lieutenant Colonel Pinion is the epitome of a servant leader and one of the best commanders I’ve had the privilege to work with throughout my long career. His faith helped strengthen and comfort those around him after suffering tragic losses on the battlefield of Fallujah. The faith-based lessons in this book explain the challenges that men and women will face on the day-to-day battlefield of life and the commitment they will need to overcome them. This book is a must-read for a young warrior as well as an experienced one.” —Sergeant Major Bryan Zickefoose, II Marine Expeditionary Force

Life is neither easy nor fair. In fact, it can be a downright battle at times. What better way to prepare for life’s battles than with a warrior’s attitude—stoic during hardship, patient through pain, diligent in duties, disciplined, motivated, and grateful for all things. For a great deal of your life will depend upon what type of person you choose to be. Your attitude can transform adversity into adventure and tragedy into a turning point. In Do Good and Fear No Man, David W. Pinion brings together insightful life lessons gleaned from over twenty years of service in the US Marines. The biblically based discussions are applicable to every aspect of life and are not specific to only the military. They serve as a primer of guiding principles that can help determine which, if any, course corrections may help along your life’s journey.
