Book Details

Beginners looking for a fast and easy to make lap quilt, this pattern is it.

If you are a beginner quilter and want an easy quilt pattern to start with, this is a good pattern to begin with. There is no fancy work, just cutting and sewing in a straight line. The pattern calls for twenty-four ten inch squares. When you finish you will have a 40x60 lap quilt. This size quilt fits just about everyone. You should be able to make this pattern in a weekend without any problem. There is a short history about quilting from the colonial days until today. At the end of the book is a short history of the Underground Railroad Quilt. Some say this quilt telling the enslaved escapees where to go for help during their long journey to the north did not exist because there was no documentation on it. Some say there was a quilt and the enslaved people could read it because they used some symbols in Africa to communicate with each other before being kidnapped. After reading this short history you try to decide if this is MYTH or FACT.
