Lisa Gaeta is the Founder and CEO of IMPACT Personal Safety, SoCal, and has been teaching IMPACT since 1985. Lisa holds a BA in Political Science, a BA Communications, and an MA in Public Administration. She taught in the communications department at Cal Lutheran from 1985-1990, when she stopped teaching and began doing IMPACT full time. Lisa began developing and teaching boundary-setting skills and verbal strategies in 1987 because there were no self-defense programs teaching women how to talk their way out of situations at that point. It was her education in negotiation skills and people-management that came in handy to help her and her team to develop and evolve these strategies over the years. Over 35 years, Lisa has personally trained hundreds of women and men to teach the IMPACT Personal Safety system all over Los Angeles, the USA, and even Europe, Asia, and Latin America. She has also personally taught thousands and thousands of women, men, teens, and kids. (We teach over 500 teens and tweens a year in our school programs.) Lisa is Co-author of The Safety Godmothers: The ABCs of Awareness, Boundaries and Confidence for Teens, by Ellen Snortland and Lisa Gaeta; Contributor to Beauty Bites Beast: The Missing Conversation about Ending Violence, written by Ellen Snortland; and Associate Producer on Beauty Bites Beast: The Documentary, written and produced by Ellen Snortland. Lisa has dedicated her life to creating a world where her program will become unnecessary because women, children and men will not live in fear of being victims.
