What was so memorable about the now-decommissioned US Highway 66; Route 66; the Mother Road? 66 REWIND answers that question in a way no one could have imagined.
Buzz McGinnis is retired, widowed, and seventy-seven years old. And he’s planning a trip: driving the now-decommissioned US Highway 66, ‘Route 66,’ from his home in the Chicago suburbs to the West Coast. Solo, in his classic 1960 DeSoto Fireflite. His nephew Lon believes Buzz is too old; neither mentally nor physically capable of taking such a trip. But Buzz thinks otherwise. He’s armed with his car, his resolve, and a mysterious guide book, bequeathed to him by a friend, which will take him to venues on the Mother Road he could never have imagined.
