Product description...

Should festering secrets be told?

In the spring of 1967, a child fearfully rolls diary pages into a tight cylindrical wad and hides them in the body cavity of a naked Toni doll. Forty-six years later, Lena Vincenti carefully unwraps the doll, an e-Bay purchase for her granddaughter. When she discovers the pages of the diary within it, the story that unfolds gives her both a surprise and a purpose. Lena immediately phones her dear friend, Alice Tricklebank, and together they set off on a road trip to learn the fate of the child who was wrongly accused of arson…and murder. The Case of the Girl Who Didn’t Smile is the story of two retired widows determined to unravel the secrets of the child’s diary and learn her fate, but their quest uncovers a forty-year-old secret—and someone is determined that the secret is kept, threatening the women’s very lives.
