Author Information...

Rosalie M. Gabbert Illustrations by Sheila JarkinsAUTHOR BIO As a teacher, author and librarian, Rosalie Gabbert could scarcely identify a honey bee from a yellow jacket. That did not last long when she met Benson, her apiculturist husband. This new interest sent her on a road back in time in the art of beekeeping. Along the way she learned of Langstroth and felt children should have available a book about the Father of American Beekeeping. ILLUSTRATOR BIO Sheila Jarkins is a retired art and dance teacher. She was once a science illustrator who drew bugs she studied under the microscope, including bees. This led to a fascination with the insect world. She buzzed happily at the chance to illustrate Mr. Bee Man. Sheila is a published author and illustrator of four books for children. Visit her website at
