U-boat “Happy Days” were Almost over—but not quite....

A lone Alllied Lend-Lease convoy slogs its way toward Murmansk, USSR. It faces more than Nazi foes: season, weather, the North Atlantic, itself, seemingly conspire to assault, wound, and then to destroy it -ignominiously. Men of steel and luck will be tested on this hard journey. Some of them will die. Others will be spared, and a few will be imprisoned; but all will be changed... To seamen who still sometimes dream about the grim hammer and anvil of war, this tale is related.

The author is a retired US Navy captain whose three decades of sea and shore duty have fueled a personal writer’s muse. This work is his initial thrust into the genre of fiction. He knows the places of which he writes - for he has been to most of them - especially the North Atlantic.
