Book Details

Oh, life is everywhere. Look up and down and all around. What do you see? What do you hear? Life! Bees buzzing. Birds chirping to their friends. Squirrels scurrying to bury acorns. Rabbits, still as can be, or hopping through the bramble. Fish wiggling in a pond. Tree branches stretching to the sun. Rainbows of flowers blanketing meadows and gardens. Yes, life is everywhere. And watching over every living thing—and caring for every living thing through every season—is The Garden Elf. When you go outdoors, listen and look carefully. Look into the trees. I’m certain you will see her…because she is happy to see you here, too.

About the Author

John R. Scannell and Michelle Scannell

John R Scannell has now authored four illustrated children’s books with his incredibly talented and imaginative artistic collaborator, Devika Joglekar. His daughter’s deep love of Nature—and the hope that a love of Nature can be passed on to everyone—prompted this book with its words and beautiful art.

Michelle Scannell adores being in Nature, especially climbing trees. She is the original Garden Elf. (Yes, she’s in the book.) Nature is her best friend. Most of her life, she has cared for gardens and parks. Her passion is to empower kids and families to be kind, respectful friends with our living, natural world. She wishes every soul to experience the magic within Nature.
