About the Author

Loreto N. Gonzales Jr.

Reverend Monsignor Loreto (Mac) Gonzales Jr. is a priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, California. Ordained in 1978, he has served the archdiocese as associate pastor (1978–1990), director of Filipino Pastoral Ministry (1990–2000), and pastor (1992–2014). He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at St. Pius X Seminary in the Philippines and graduated at St. John’s Seminary School of Theology in Camarillo, California, in 1977. In 1995, he earned his Master’s Degree in Communications Management at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. In 2018, he graduated with a degree of Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, California. In 2015, he published Lighthouses Both Sides of the Pacific, an anthology of short stories and essays, and in 2018, Lorenzo (A Two-Act Play).
