How Should I Wear My Crown? My face is ready, set to greet The world and speak it’s part. My clothes are finely tailored And I’m feeling great at heart My body’s set to deal with life - Set for out on the town. Then I look at me and I ask, “How Should I Wear My Crown?” Should I tease it, wrap or curl it, Or braid it a design? Should I shape around the edges? Trimmed or cut it must look fine! Should I loc it, weave it, dress it - Press it - add fine jewels, or pin it down! Clip a bang - or a bun - Don my straw hat just for fun – I don’t know – which style, which one? “How Should I Wear My Crown?”

Princess Ameenah

This book is an endeavor to beautify the world... to make it a better place. It is designed to generate enhanced perspectives and perceptions about urban youth and their families. Princess Ameenah is president of a non-profit organization that designs drama programs to address community concerns. She is an Occupational therapist who is also certified in Restorative Practices. The princess sees stories... in people’s eyes, and sometimes tears in the hearts of youth she encounters. Some tears are silver... some are crystal, and some are blue. The tears are shed in 'Straight from the Heart'. Princess Ameenah is an eldest daughter, mother to three sons, godmother, sister, friend, lover and community activist. Her projects and endeavors are heartfelt attempts to uplift the image of African Americans, and particularly to let the world know the beauty and powerful great legacies of African American women... as she creates her own beautiful legend.
