COMMON SENSE FOR TEACHERS AND PARENTS

This book is not written for the elite and sophisticated educator; rather it is just a book for parents and teachers to promote the common sense approach to education. Good common sense can be described as the knack for seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done. Teachers may be smart, dedicated and well educated with the latest progressive methodology, but still fall short in helping children learn. The old school of learning had its faults, yet there were some basic healthy grains among the shaft—grains discarded by elitists. Educators and parents should take another look at education in our schools today. As a Christian, the author finds much wisdom and common sense in the Bible for teaching children. Even non-Christians might find merit in some of those passages that are still timeless: “He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning” (Daniel 2:21 NIV).
