This book explores life-challenging obstacles through one woman’s journey to empower herself to be respected, self-reliant, financially independent, and successful in all aspects of her life. By reading Kim’s personal experiences, women can gain insight and knowledge on how to empower themselves through difficult times and still achieve the quality of life they desire. Critical relatives, divorce, depression, work place discrimination and being the parent of an autistic child did not stop Kim from achieving her goals and it doesn’t have to stop you!
“…I’m prepared for Kim Goff to get a phone call from Oprah, asking her to talk about her life story…If Goff keeps up her strong-willed determination, she’ll make it.”

From the Chapter: Weighty Issues
“I am so fat. If I could just lose 15 pounds, then I would be so happy and my husband would find me attractive.” “I hate my body; I wish I looked like a supermodel.” “Maybe T— is right; I am too young to be this fat.” “What am I going to do if I get pregnant?” “I guess he’s right; my relatives have been telling me I was chubby since I was 13.” “Why couldn’t I have come from a skinny family?” Yes, I have actually said all these things. If I could go back in time to my young self, I would say the following to her (me): “You are not fat. Stop starving yourself. Stop putting yourself down. If T— does not love you the way you are, screw him! You deserve better. Get out of this marriage and begin living the life you want to live. If you believe you are fat and tell everyone you are fat, guess what? They will consider you fat. Change your way of thinking. Be positive. If you are around people that are telling you that you are fat, then don’t hang around them anymore! Empower yourself to love yourself the way you are, and tell them all to go to hell!”
