When night came the little flower was still crying. A fairy from a nearby forest heard her as she was passing by. As the fairy came closer, the little flower became intrigued. It was no wonder for this fairy was quite lovely and seemed special in a caring sort of way.
“Perhaps it’s her fair skin or dainty manners,” thought the flower. “No, there is something else, something in her eyes.”
Maybe it was the way they sparkled in the moonlight or reflected the fairy dust around her. What ever it was made her glow with a sense of kindness. The fairy had a tone of curious concern in her voice as she asked, “Why are you crying little flower?”
