The Benn Mac series continues in this sequel to Glass Windows. As famous Rock N Roll band False Eyelashes completes their World Tour with new lead singer Susana Blankenship, tragedy lurks in the shadows. Guitarist, Quinn McIntyre and Susana fall deeply in love and when it seems that nothing can tear them apart, Susana befriends ten year old Bethie Tiernay, an autistic Irish child living at Judy's Kid's organization in Maryland. A tidal wave of conflicts floods their serenity when Quinn and his brother Brace learn of their father's death and his involvement with the Irish Republican Army. Baited, the brothers take off for Ireland to unravel the mystery behind the father they barely knew and get caught in the middle of the war between the Nationalist Milligan Brotherhood in the Irish Free State and the Loyalists' Burke Gang in Belfast. Susana learns she has developed breast cancer and arms herself for the long road of treatment. Hold on to your seat while you travel through this journey of intrigue, courage and love as one open door leads to three more and two battles erupt: killing cancer cells and repairing cells of Republican freedom fighters.

Could a ten year old autistic child hold the key to saving their lives?

They turned as Brogan entered the cabin, his face set with a firm expression.
“Paddy just called. He’s having a hell of a cell reception up there and couldn’t get through earlier. Darragh Burke paid him a visit on the boat two days ago.”
“Is he okay?” Jeff asked quickly.
“Aye, mate, he is but when there was no trunk Darragh figured it came in to the south.”
“We’re a needle in a haystack out here,” Quinn answered. “He’d have to get down here then get a boat out here and know right where we are.”
“Don’t underestimate their intelligence sources.”
He slipped out of his coat and walked to his state room. When he reappeared minutes later he was wearing two shoulder holsters as well as a double belt holster, all loaded.
“There’s a boat on the northern horizon headed our way,” he continued. “Better safe than sorry. I have Kevin taking us closer to the shoreline. Suit up with two guns. Quinn, I’ve got the stove.”
They did as he asked and when they were equipped Jeff relieved Kevin from the helm on the fly bridge so he could do the same. They kept an eye on the approaching boat, and as they made a sharper turn to the west it appeared that the vessel in the distance was turning too. A half hour later Brogan peered at it through binoculars and nodded.
“We’re about to have company, mates.”
“How many on board?” Jeff asked.
“Too far away to tell yet.” He turned to lift the seat on the sofa which housed the rifles. “Here’s what we do, mates. Best defense is an offense. We need a man on the fly bridge and a man on the bow in the hold, both with rifles. We need a man on the helm in here and then I have to be free to maneuver where I need to with pistols and binoculars. The man on the fly bridge is the easiest target and has to be able to effectively hit. Who is it gonna be?” He knew this had to be a volunteer role.
A silent moment ensued before Kevin raised his hand.
“I’m not married and I don’t have kids. I’ll go up on the fly bridge.”
Brogan nodded and handed him an M14 with a thirty round magazine. “Slap fire, Kevin.”
“Got it.”
