The vehicle screeched and sped forward and Johnny simultaneously turned and dove for his apartment door as a barrage of machine gun bullets came firing from the car’s passenger side. The apartment door slammed shut as Johnny lay gritting at the blood gushing from his left leg. He knew he had no time for writhing in pain however, as he quickly heard the sound of car doors slamming and multiple footsteps running against concrete.
He closed his eyes and listened. Three men, he thought to himself after only a split second. He immediately rose to his feet and limped vigorously towards a small compartment behind his dusty flat screen television.
"Code three!" he shouted as he pulled forth a small semi-automatic hand gun from the compartment. The front door immediately locked.
He hurriedly pushed his couch so that the back of it faced his front door then knelt down to the floor. His face was a deep frown, not of fear, but of anger and deep anticipation. He clutched his gun tightly and waited as the footsteps grew closer…
