Published Author
“You never know what tomorrow will bring.” Helen Liere found out how life-changing an ordinary day can be. When returning from presenting a workshop, she was nearly killed when struck head-on by an out-of-control pickup truck. The reader will discover through her spell-binding story-telling:

• how difficult it is for a very independent woman to become totally dependent

• what parts of her life are lost forever

• what character traits help her survive and recover

• the role of family, friends and church

• what saves her from financial ruin

• what she wishes she had known before she left the hospital

• what happens to her faith

• what she discovers really matters in life.

Life can change in an instant, but Liere knows that she is now ready for what tomorrow may bring. Her physical loss has truly been her soul’s gain.

For book clubs and faith study groups there is a study guide at the end of the book that will provide for the readers’ discussion of the insights gained from this inspiring story.

Sample Text:

We all face challenges in life, and in particular life-changing events. How we respond to them tells us a lot about ourselves and our fellow woman and mankind. As each of us learns more about the human experience and the meaning of life, it seems important that we share our thoughts in the hope that we may increase our understanding of the importance of life and the responsibilities we have to each other.

My aim is that those of you who have suffered a tragedy or life-changing event will find hope and encouragement through hearing about my experience and what I have found helpful in dealing with loss. You may just find that you are able to say, “I felt like that too. It’s good to know that I am not alone in feeling that way.” Or you may be encouraged or empowered by my discussion on what helped me or what I learned as I reinvented myself and found my new direction.

I think you will find my story both meaningful and interesting. You will learn just how this successful independent woman, who was raised to believe that with hard work you could accomplish your dreams, ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. My major life experiences are woven with humor into my story of recovery. My story is one that involves a tragic crash, major health problems, a loving family and friends, losing a business, regaining health, and redirecting a life. And along the way there were lots of tears, laughter, love, and faith. It is a transformation story more that a survival story. It is a story I now feel compelled to tell.
