Little Hannidy Blair was only three-years-old when she really got into trouble with her eleven-year-old brother. He did not like her anyway because she was supposed to be born a boy! Hannidy so wanted to be with her older brother; she really loved him but he would have nothing to do with her until his rabbits disappeared one day. This story and those that follow encapsulates the adventures of this little girl's growing up. Hannidy comes up with some schemes of her own you will find mind boggling.

This escapade was the beginning of what Hannidy could get herself into the rest of her life. She got up from sitting on the grass and toddled over to the cages. They were right in front of her, and she could just FEEL the bunnies' softness; but, there was a problem. Imagine a three-year-old child looking up to gigantic rabbit compartments and not being able to reach the latches on the doors. Just looking at them wasn't going to work.

About B. L. Lauterbach

B. L. Lauterbach is a middle school English and Social Studies teacher. A veteran teacher of twenty-three years, Lauterbach encourages her students’ writing by using much of her own to inspire their creativity. Many of her poems have appeared in anthologies across the nation; she is a graduate of Knox College and Bradley University in Illinois and has participated in doctoral courses from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She believes that the pages are a blank canvas on which to draw from a talent heralded by many and matched only by an imagination that rises to the task. Home-Grown Experiences is the first in a series of recent pursuits, with work progressing quickly on the follow-up. Ms. Lauterbach resides with her husband and four dogs in Myrtle Beach, SC.
