For living quarters, Dad purchased an old-two-room-plus-attic house which was hauled to the site by horses. The little house was bug-infested and not exactly Mother's dream home. Nevertheless, she was determined to make the best of it.

Diane Dettmann is a writer, teacher and presenter. She recently presented the book at a seminar in Finland. Diane lives in Afton, MN with her husband Allan. Miriam Dloniak grew up in Babbitt, Minnesota. She settled in Pennsylvania where she raised her family and worked as a dietician. She served in the United States Women’s Army Corps during World War II. The book is printed in memory of Miriam Dloniak.
