About Joseph Russo
Joe Russo is a full time, experienced Real Estate Professional and educator with over 35 Years of Full Time Service as a Real Estate Broker and transaction facilitator.
Originally starting in Brooklyn, New York as an independent Real Estate Broker with a small staff, the business grew and acquired two (2) Century 21 Franchises. The office grew to be the largest real estate franchise in the area, with on site office training and education. His practice also included service in an International Real Estate Brokerage firm and participation at an International Real Estate Conference in London.
He was a co-founder of the Multiple Listing Service of Mid-County - Brooklyn, New York. He was then elected to various offices on the Executive Board including being elected MLS President. This service quickly grew from 5 members to over 200 + members and finally was asked to merge with the Brooklyn Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service.
Joe Russo was elected as President of The Brooklyn Board of Realtors for 3 Terms, and was instrumental in encouraging and organizing a regular agenda of Educational Courses and Professional Certification Courses. The Brooklyn Board of Realtors is one of the oldest and most prestigious Realtor Boards in the Country.
While active as a Real Estate Broker in Brooklyn, he was responsible for personally training over 1,000 of his own agents, in addition to being a Real Estate Instructor approved in NY State.
Joe Russo was Certified as a General and Residential Real Estate Appraiser in New York State. Assignments included Expert Testimony for Dept. of Justice, testimony before US Federal, NY State and NY City Criminal, Civil, Probate, Custodial and Family Courts. Most notably was his work on behalf of clients before the NYC Board of Standards and Appeals for the purpose of Zoning Variances.
Related experience includes Insurance Brokerage, Financial Consultant with Morgan Stanley with a specialty in mortgage placement for clients of the branch.
Currently, he is an active, successful Realtor and Investor in North Carolina, specializing in selling waterfront communities and investment properties in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, North Carolina. He estimates that he has personally negotiated well over 1,000 residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout his career. Additionally, he has personally appraised over 750 commercial and residential properties.
