Brother Sleeper Agent: The Plot to Kill F.D.R.

Jack O'Keefe, the son of Irish immigrants, earned a Ph.D. in Literature, and attended the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop.

He joined the seminary of the Christian Brothers in West Park, New York, near President Roosevelt's home, and later taught at Power Memorial Academy in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

After leaving the order in 1972, he did research at the Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in 2001, scouting the estate as an assassin would. He later traveled with his wife to Dingle, Ireland, where the story begins.

In "Sleeper Agent: A Seminarian's Plot To Kill the President," the authentic voices will stay with you long after you put down this powerful novel.

O'Keefe is a champion at telling this well-crafted tale of life in Dingle, Ireland, and the rough Irish community of New York in the 1930's and 40's.

O'Keefe's wit, skill and pacing keep the plot flowing, as the richly developed characters, and their internal struggles are brought to life in this suspenseful story.

Hearing no commotion, Mick resumed his crawl, images of Katie and Dominic flashing before him. Still lying down, Mick balanced the Webley on his left arm and sighted it. He would take Churchill first because he was farther away and then the President immobile in his wheelchair.

About Jack O'Keefe, Ph.D.

Jack O’Keefe, a university writing teacher, has written Brother Sleeper Agent: The Plot to Kill F.D.R., the story of a young Irish immigrant trained to avenge the deaths of his parents mistakenly murdered by English gunmen. The IRA brings him as a teenager to New York and enrolls him in a Catholic high school which has a seminary close to President Roosevelt’s home in Hyde Park. Posing as a religious, the young man is really a killer, his mission to assassinate Roosevelt who has embittered the Irish by helping England in the war.
