To kiss her lips jumbled my senses

I wanted to love forever

about what we couldn't feel together
When did we realize we have separate paths
leading away from together

Why hope for what isn't believed
A half-hearted attempt at a melodrama
The temporary security of her arms and legs
Why are the shadows of leaving so cumbersome
Why are they in heart shapes slightly bloodied
Regret is not hope
Hope seems so important in the shadows

Got away quick on a shuttle flight
Maybe she saved her marriage
Maybe I saved a sin or two for another trip

Is the key to life -- truth

Fingers entangled

And remain touching
