Real Life

I had a dream that's now shattered
Into old memories that never even mattered
Cause of the color of my skin
Which I'm judged by instead of being percieved based on my character within
An injustice system can't bring 4th justice into a system that failed me
Striped of my pride and dignity now I'm naked in my nudity
Being whipped till my bones show what else can you do to me
Had hope of life that continues to be taunted by life handicaps
From being beaten, body slammed, and slapped
Hatred feed me every color but black
Welcomed white anyother would be agressively attacked
Watching blue waters
Drown godsons and daughters
Listening to action take place inside the presidental quarters
About taking another vacation were primary orders
United a nation saluting your fallen soldiers
Watching water splash through my fingers open up my eyes
Throughout a nation the country seen my life being televised

Sample Poem #2 pg 88

Cry Wolf

The wolf cry in my words
The packed up animal lay still in my wild life verbs
Shadows of wild wolves run the plains
Crying wolves of pain heard across the old Indian plains
As animal spirits continue to grow and expand
Witnessing humans crush and kill off wilderness land
Feeling fully alive from the gift of the world
Animals cry freedom unheard
Getting shot because of skin and Hyde
Singing the song of the land that died
Were words that hurt the human heart?
Never seeing the bright light in the tunnel of woods in the dark!

Sample Poem #3 pg 85
Dreaming in Fog

Standing still
Watching you dance at will
Waving your hands through the fog
Like a goodbye race you about to jog
I cry because the old memories I see
Dreaming in the fog I be
As the misty wind goes motionless
I grab to put tight on my chest
An old picture of you dancing around
Looking at it even closer had my eyes spellbound
Dreaming in fog I can barely see
Images of you dancing in front of me!
