The Triangle of immortal breeds wage war against one another. The former king amongst them defends his manor against the raging breeds in his never-ending quest for peace--that of which cost him his reign nigh two centuries ago.

A mysterious evil leads a pack of firebrands who are captained by a notorious werewolf while a young vampire vigilante finds herself loosing her heart to the ancient ruler's son.

Daemon, Lamia, and Versipellis. Demon, Vampire, and Werewolf.
All represent a single side of the Ancient Triangle of Immortals.

For centuries, they have quarreled amongst themselves for power, and finally, the war is here.

One breed will not survive.

“Gabriel…” Artemis began, and his son turned to him. He was not just speaking to his son, though, and the entirety of his own army knew it and paid close attention to his following words. “If one were to pit a tiger against a lion, which would overcome?”
“The tiger,” Gabriel answered without missing a beat.
Artemis nodded, becoming silent. All interest was on his unknown purpose of such an inquiry. All waited, now patient, as to see what their former king’s—their leader’s—wisdom would unveil to them.
“A match of five lions and five tigers…” Artemis’ voice had grown in matter. Though he was quiet, his voice carried more nobility now than before. “What then?”
Gabriel studied his father closely, his mouth slightly agape in subtle realization—revelation, even.
“The lions,” he answered quietly, a dawning understanding of his father’s meaning overcoming him.
All was silent.
Raven understood, clearly, Artemis’ meaning. With it, she gained even more respect for the ancient immortal.
Artemis nodded once, urging his horse slightly forward, his gaze still never leaving that of the enemy that was approaching, the last of its lines at the bottom of the opposite hill.
“Son…” he began, “I once said anger would never win a war.”
Gabriel caught that his father was not yet finished.
In that fleeting moment before they would ride out to meet their adversary, his father turned and his eyes met with his own.
“I was a blind man.”
That was all that was needed. With that, Artemis turned back to face the rival.
”Men,” he said strongly, drawing his sword, his voice loud and commanding to address them all. “Be the lions.”
With that, all in league with the manor drew their weapons, valor and courage reigning their undead hearts, and rode out to meet their foes.

About Nicole Sporer

Nicole Sporer was born in Hibbing in 1989, and is finishing her senior year at Cherry High School. She is equally a student of the human condition, wielding the written craft to enrapture the mind much like an artist wields a brush. The pages are a blank canvas on which to draw from a talent heralded by many and matched only by an imagination that rises to the task. Virtus Victum is a saga of destiny and meaning, a journey the reader may follow along with beside the characters as they grow. "War of Immortals" remains the first in this series of six.

Nicole first began developing this series in late 2003, when she was just 14.
