His gaze lifted up to what should have been a white house complete with a wide verandah, sitting on a sloping yard with green grass, shaded by a beautiful oak tree. Instead there was only a shell of a building that had once been a home. The roof had collapsed into the bottom floor and large desolate black beams stuck up into the sky. Perched on one side of the rubble, a charred brick chimney still stood tall as if to remind anyone passing that this place had once been a warm inviting asylum. In shock at all of the destruction he is seeing, his mind is running wild. Where is everybody? Who or what could have done this and why?
