Mardi Gras Ice
A time for celebration, excitement, and...mayhem!
Mardi Gras in New Orleans is an occasion unlike any other filled with fun, laughter, parades, and parties - and it is 'the' social season of the elite. But this year, it will be used as the stage for a daring event that no one will suspect--the heist of millions of dollars in jewels!
The lives of a young executive, his insecure wife and her best friend, a New Orleans madam, a suave jewel thief, an unhappy husband, and a beautiful painter all become tied together through this Mardi Gras night. And, just when everything seems to be getting back to normal, a devastating hurricane hits and their lives will never be the same again.

Kate Worrell spins an exciting and intriguing tale of love, deceit, desire, and the desperate search for happiness while using the provocative backdrop of New Orleans.

New Orleans was back to normal. On Ash Wednesday, the day after Mardi Gras, the masses of visiting revelers had streamed out of the city and the debris of Fat Tuesday had been swept away. Now just the customary throngs of tourists and conventioneers were in the hotels; even the French Quarter had reverted to its usual only mildly chaotic state. And with Carnival madness over for another year, the natives were picking up the threads of their lives and settling comfortably again into familiar routines. At last, order had been restored.

In most lives, perhaps, yet for some in the Garden District order could not be restored, the events of Mardi Gras night having changed their lives irrevocably. And for Trish Trahan, the nightmare would never end. The tragedy was all over the news. She knew everyone was talking about it, guessing, speculating, and talking and talkingà

For a week now, her own questions and fears had pounded in her head until she thought she would scream. She had tried to slam the door to her mind, but it was impossible.
