Darkness is beautiful, peaceful, and serene A gruesome sight, becomes unseen It is when we hide whatever we deem Perhaps what seems to others obscene Yet it is also a time of pause One of reflection, where we can think Anything is possible at any moment In only an instant, everything can change
At any given moment, we could be anywhere With anyone, doing anything When our curtains close our other play begins Something like a blank page or an open road await We live to dream, or perhaps we dream to live I am a man of history; always a mirror in front I believe it is better to remember than to forget It is fact in a previous time
I suppose that is easier than fantasizing Which would be potential storyline to come We can never escape ourselves; we're always here We are our toughest critic and our biggest fan Darkness elicits these torrents of thoughts Where we have been, what we have done, whom we have lost Time is a line with points along the way In our moment of contemplation we analyze these dots Night is an eraser; an abyss leaving question and doubt Yet in this entity of opportunity, the truth comes out Influenced by our daylight character, it is revealed in our sublime For anything is possible in a moment of time
