About the Author

Kenneth R. Taylor Sr. Illustrated by Tamara Sardakowski

This is Ken Taylor Sr.’s first children book. He is working on writing more soon. He has earned a BA degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Technical Writing. He has graduated from Rossville High School, Rossville, Indiana and from Palmer Writers School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served seven years active duty in the U.S. Army as an electrician in the Corps of Engineers. He was in the Army National Guard and Air National Guard for another two years. Ken retired from Gates Rubber Company, Denver, Colorado after 35 years and also from Frontier Airlines at DIA after 14 years. He worked for North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado as a Security Officer for several years. He is now retired, but still plans to continue his writing career. Keep looking for more published books from him to come on the market. Tamara Sardakowski, the Illustrator, said, I grew up in Colorado and currently live in a suburb north of Denver. I have loved animals all of my life, horses in particular, and started drawing them when I was about 9 or 10, maybe earlier. Drawing and painting in general is one of my favorite hobbies and I’ve practiced these most of my life. I did not seek out a career as a professional artist when I was younger because I couldn’t see too many opportunities in this field and had no desire to be a “starving” artist. However, being older now and wiser, I have a bit of a different perspective, and art is getting easier for me, so that may be where my next career lies. I am very inspired by nature and being outdoors and I especially love to paint and photograph mountains. This usually leads to paintings being completed after a family vacation to some scenic spot on the globe such as Glacier National Park or Yellowstone and the Teton Range in Wyoming. It has been fun being able to have the talent to create good art and I have to give credit to my parents since that is where the talent came from originally. They both dabbled here and there with art in various mediums.
