Author Jennifer McMichael lives in Virginia with her Goldendoodle Kai, who is the inspiration for this story. Kai is a therapy dog and together they visit the local library, where the children love reading to him. Jennifer McMichael is a wife, mother, grandmother, avid gardener, culinary enthusiast and artist. She treasures her family, friends and her dog for making her life that much sweeter! Illustrator Maria Stezhko is a watercolor artist and freelance illustrator who lives in California. She has been painting since she was a child. Finding her inspiration in traveling, dreaming and observing the natural world, she enjoys capturing beautiful moments of life and sharing positive emotions through her work.
