WHAT IS A MAN??

What Is A Man?? The burning question I pondered during my young adult life. Seeking to give Meaning to my existence, as well as an explanation to my progeny. Growing up in rural Mississippi during the 1960’s - 1980’s era, proved to be a challenging feat for the common man. The young black men & women I grew up with appeared lost & confused. In the aftermath of the Vietnam war, the Civil Rights Legislation being passed, and the Nation appearing to embrace “Justice and Equality”, America was gripped in the lingering sorrow and division over the deaths of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Medgar Evers, Robert Kennedy and many other popular and not so popular “John Doe Jones”. So called for those I didn’t know, that gave their tears, sweat, blood and lives yet went unnoticed. Slow-cooking and seething in this cauldron of humanity were a people spawned, a “Peculiar People” among Whom I reside, “The Kingdom Culture” I like to call them. A people who believe God (YAHVEH) to be the Supernatural Being he says we were made in the image of. As we acknowledge, receive and reflect the resident Spiritual power within us to manifest the Sons Of God throughout the World!!! Not Just Mere Men I had almost died, and I couldn't rest, depressed. While awake, inside I cried; I yearned to be blessed. I struggled with insecurities and had self-doubt. Way deep down inside crying-Jesus bring me out! My doubts and fears had me bound down, When all of a sudden, again, My Spirit was found. Like a gentle, refreshing rain, My Spirit came alive. A renewed strength and energy in me, revived. I felt my strength shake along with my countenance, Starting deep in my soul and echoed its resonance. Through my heart and mind, and it came out through this pen. It spoke, "I'm GOD! You're mine! You'll always win! I'm GOD! Your savior, Your business partner, Your friend. If Earth should stop spinning and breath should cease to be, You'll exist in a land where breath has no need. You'll still be with me!" GOD made the heavens; GOD spanned the time. GOD is love and sacrifice. GOD alone, is divine! GOD's Spirit is over-powering. He grasps me in his hand, purging my mind of the cares of man. Fills my spirit up with love over-flowing. Empowering me with his words-has me glowing, as his little candle set up on a hill, For men to see and listen to me, as the SPIRIT reveals. God's truth about God's Power, Sent to man for this very hour.....
