Books by Eric Jensen
Like many children of the 1940s and 50s, Eric Jensen rarely heard his family’s stories of World War II. But after his mother’s death, Jensen discovered a cardboard box brimming with letters. This treasure trove launched Jensen on a journey to discover his family’s connection to the war—a journey that would take him back in time and around the world.
Unique in WWII accounts, this family memoir introduces us to George and Mary Jensen, five Jensen siblings, and their friends—through letters arriving from the front lines of Europe and the Pacific. From western Canada and Alaska, where civilians and GIs labored under impossible conditions to complete the Alaska Military Road, the Canadian Oil Project, and the Northwest Staging Route. And from home front America, where the Jensen women scrambled to support the war effort while coping with rationing, bone-wearying work, and endless worry.

About Eric Jensen
ERIC JENSEN is a retired high school teacher with 26-years experience in the classroom. Teaching was one of the greatest challenges in his life and one of the most rewarding. After ending one career in 1994, he began another as a writer. He now shares his lates effort in story telling--the Jensen family's journey and that of this nation through World War II.
In order to bring the geographical settings and the narrative to life in Forever and a Day and better understand the challenges that his family and our nation faced, the author utilized hundreds of letters, interviewed three score veterans, and dug through the resources of archives located across the world. In addition, he travelled to distant locations, which are central to understanding this book and the war--from Canada and Alaska, Normandy, and Italy to islands in the Pacific.
The author's background includes a Bachelor of Arts in history from Colorado State University and several years of language instruction at the University of Goettingen, Germany and, more recently, in private language institutes.
