As a young girl, Solis Burkes is raped at the hands of ruthless school bullies-an incident that haunts her into young adulthood. Then she meets Nacio, a strikingly handsome man who seems to know everything about her-including the painful past Solis hasn't told anyone about. But what Solis doesn't know is that Nacio has been with her every step of the way, protecting her ever since that fateful episode.

It's a destiny he's been working up to for the last 257 years.

Now, as Solis enters a dark world of vampires, voodoo, and passion, she'll need all the protection she can get. Unbeknownst to her, those responsible for Solis's rape have returned. Connected to the evil voodoo Priestess Auldicia, they'll stop at nothing in their plans to spew violence and mayhem throughout the city. And an old family feud dating back centuries puts Solis first on their list of targets. But not if Solis can unravel the clues fast enough, and inflict her own brand of revenge...

Embellish mixes sexy romance with high-stakes paranormal intrigue for a keeps-you-guessing, fast-paced and savvy thriller, right up until the shocking finale.

*****"This unforgettable novel will keep your heart racing with excitement from the first page to the last. The characters are brought to life through the author’s creativity. It is a sexy novel that is very well written, deals with the paranormal, contains many unexpected happenings, and is thoroughly entertaining. After reading this book, I’ll never look at vampires in quite the same way, which is why I eagerly await the sequel." Bettie Corbin Tucker For IP Book Reviewers

Calmly Nacio began to stalk his prey. He peered into the picture window of the trailer, to find an inebriated Dukane mumbling to himself. Dukane was sprawled across a grime-slicked couch that sat in a sea of trash in the middle of the living room. Shadows from the television set danced across his face, as he slipped in and out of consciousness. Dukane appeared to have weighed all of 475 pounds. Soft middle girth that gave his chest the appearance of bosoms, shifted from side to side as he tossed and turned on the couch.

He grunted as he gave himself one heaved push to turn over on his side, revealing hips that could have mistaken him for being a woman in the dark. It was obvious now how the hole was made on porch. Dukane was a cruel soul. He worked with elderly patients in a convalescent home, and has had several past complaints about his treatment of residents that have long since been forgotten about by their loved ones. Dukane once stole a set of dentures from a resident to claim the gold that was formed in the moldings. Many residents were assessed with unexplained injuries and stolen personal effects. He was one of Frances Treemounts nephew’s, and he was rotten to the core. It wouldn’t be long before he too, would join the prison ranks like his vile first cousin. So it begins.

Nacio knocked on the door. A drunken and irritated Dukane cursed at the unannounced visitor knocking at the door.

“Who the hell is it?”

No answer. Knock, Knock, Knock.

“I said, who in the hell is it?”

No answer still. Knock, Knock, Knock.

Now attempting to hoist all 475 pounds in a heated rush, Dukane rolled off the couch, falling onto an open can of bean dip, cutting his leg, and releasing the smell of fresh plasma. Nacio, allowed his fangs to creep down from the hidden hoods inside his gums to their rightful place for feeding...anticipation.

After stumbling and finding his way to the door, Dukane swore once more as he flung the half unhinged door open. He stepped out on the porch, careful not to go spiraling down into the hole that had gleaming cat eyes staring back at him.

“Dammit, who the hell is out here? I got a gun, and you better”...Dukane tried to finish, but Nacio shrouded him with his body in one single bound from the right, knocking Dukane off balance and through the gaping hole below, imprisoning him as Nacio lunged for his right arm that was the shape and size of a king sized pillow sham. He hungered no more.
