The author reveals the surprising inspiration that led her to work with people who are blind. She shares the role that her faith played in first, making decisions regarding her career to work with people who are blind, secondly, during the educational training at Florida State University, and finally, day-to-day, in South Florida, as she taught her clients skills that led to greater independence and confidence.
