Andre Moreau, a wealthy French aristocrat, hires a young American to sing at his 5-star restaurant. At once, Alycea Androvna becomes Andre’s protégé and is drawn by him into the glittering world of Parisian society. Determined to remain grounded, Alycea seeks balance in her relationship with Andre’s best friend, Marcus. The divorced Marcus and his young son, Henri, show Alycea another life—that of family. Although Alycea now attempts to straddle both worlds, a pivotal moment decides her fate when she is severely injured at a storefront bombing. Rushing to her side, Andre vows to marry Alycea. Andre’s formidable mother and sister now join forces to prevent the marriage by anonymously informing Alycea of a dark secret that Andre harbors. Will Alycea remain true to herself? How much will Alycea sacrifice for Andre’s love?

Book Excerpt

Bonjour, My Friend, is basically a love story that takes place in Paris, but its theme involves BARC (Belief in Animal Rescue Causes) - an animal activist organization - and their rescue of a group of animals being used for research purposes by a cosmetic company. There are both idealism and cynicism, sex and enduring love. The action is fast paced, and the dialogue is realistic and captures the essence of the characters. A ten year old boy, Henri, is featured as well as a dog, Niko, who will take over the heart of the reader. It is the story of an ordinary girl pitted against the French aristocracy and the triumph of decency and sound values.
