INSIDE THE DOCTORS’ WORLD: SEEING THE PATIENT AS A PERSON

The doctor-patient relationship represents a direct and personal interaction between two unique individuals. Great doctors care about their patients. Physicians must talk to and listen to their patients. Doctors make medical decisions based on their analysis of the patient’s appearance, atitude, mood, signs and symptoms. The best doctors are not buried in the bureaucracy of medicine. They are exhilarated by the opportunity to be healers. Medicine is a combination of art and science. Medical schools teach the science. This book focuses on the art.
