God Has An Answer To Sickness

This is a book about healing for ordinary Christians. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" ___3 John 2, KJV. "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee and thou has healed me" ___Psalm 30:2, KJV. This book is about good Bible sense and simple faith brought together to make healing from God available. It looks at some of these questions and delivers some lessons for healing and health. If God loves people why are they sick? What about God's will in healing? If prayer works, why do some people we pray for still die? How could a good God let something bad happen? Why doesn't God stop plagues?

Book Excerpt

Do you want to be healed by God? If the answer is yes, then it’s no doubt important to know what He thinks about it. Is it His will to heal people? How can we know?

Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, had something to say a long time ago that is important to us today. He wept over the sins of Israel and because they would not repent, God chastised them. We weep too, but usually not over our sins. We tend to weep over our sicknesses and our suffering and unless it’s obvious, we seldom think our present condition is the result of sin. So, does sin have anything to do with sickness? How can we know?

What about errors in judgment or the sins of others? Should we be made to suffer because of what they did? Is that fair? How can we know?

There are so many questions that need to be answered. Why? Why? That is the first word spoken by many people just as soon as trouble comes. Sickness, accidents, tragedies; all of these things confront men. Yet it’s possible to get through, and even overcome these issues of life with the understanding that God alone can give us. The following chapters are simple studies to help you find that understanding through the maze and the many voices surrounding sickness and healing.

“If you cry for out for knowledge and lift up your voice for understanding. If you seek her as one seeks silver and search for her as for hid treasure. Then you shall understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God, for the Lord gives wisdom. Out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He saves up sound wisdom for righteous men” (Pro. 2:3-7).

So here’s another question. Is it possible for eternal value to result when as Christians, we are not opposed to but in support of the best medical care for men? Or does that position violate what we believe Jesus told us to do concerning healing? There are many Spirit led Christians today who believe both ways. Some feel it is a violation of their faith to seek any medical care. Others feel that praying and then going to the doctor is best. Another group seeks the doctor first, and afterwards asks for prayer if the diagnosis is serious. Have you ever wrestled with these issues for yourself? Beloved, we need to do some serious thinking and praying, don’t we?

Seeking to know God is the best way to be healed. There is no sickness, no disease, in Him. Where He is, all is well. Believers make up the house of God on earth and He doesn’t want unclean things like diseases raging in His house. Jesus said,

“My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it into a den of thieves” (Matt. 21:13).

By this we see what Jesus thinks of His house. It is to be a holy place, given to God and to prayer. Jesus showed what He wants in His temple, that is our bodies, by giving a demonstration in the natural temple.

“And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple and He healed them” (Matt. 21:14).

This is a powerful story if we understand it and apply it to our lives. The people found out that Jesus was in the temple. So they went to the temple expecting to be healed, and they were.

So how is it with you today? God calls your body His temple because the Holy Spirit lives there. Is it time to invite Jesus to do in the temple of your body what He did in the earthly temple at Jerusalem? Is it time to let Him throw out everything that corrupts or pollutes the premises as you yield to the work of the Holy Spirit? Believing prayer will ascend to your heavenly Father from that holy place as you seek to know God with all your heart. Only in God, the great Physician, can you can find wholeness.

Finally, consider the needs of the world. Live for Christ in such a way that the lame and the blind and others who are sick are aware that Christ fills your temple. When they come to Him in you, believe that He will touch them.

See how great God’s love is for men? God hates sin but loves sinners. God hates disease but loves sick people. God hates insanity but loves the souls of men so much that His only begotten Son died for all men everywhere. Because of the all-encompassing work of Jesus, we say,

“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

“May the God of peace set you aside for Himself and I pray to God that your whole spirit and soul and body will be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that called you who also will do it” (1 Thes. 5:23-24).

Isn’t it time to put your afflicted heart and your diseased body into the hands of God? His nature is truth and He has promised to save your body, soul, and spirit. He alone is the Greatest Physician.
