Some have said that when you purchase a home you also get the history of that home along with it. Alex finds himself terrified of his new home and the legends that surround it. The irony lies in the fact that it is this same terror that inspires new life into Alex's artwork and starts him on a very exciting and successful path. But this path also comes with a price, and it is one that may cost him his life. As Alex brings to life these dark images onto his canvas, so does this same darkness come crawling savagely into his life.

The room was cold and dark. The walls were made of cobblestones, and the floor was made of dirt. Dust seemed to linger in the air, so thick that he felt he was breathing it. The basement reminded Alex of the cellar of his grandfather’s farmhouse. Alex had only visited his grandfather’s home a few times when he was a child. His grandfather had passed away when Alex was only six years old, but the memory of that old cellar had stayed with him for nearly twenty years. Alex ran his hands against the cool damp stone, as he desperately felt for a light switch. As the wooden floor boards above his head began to moan just slightly, Alex felt a sudden tremble of fear run through his spine.
